Barg Upender

Founder

Barg Upender is the Founder of Amenda Infotech, with over twenty years of software development experience for federal and commercial customers. He specializes in mobile app development, user experience design, Web 2.0 designs, social media, cross-browser development, and Agile project management.

Barg has written numerous articles, and presented workshops at various conferences: he has received many awards for his user experience expertise. With two successful companies (Amenda Infotech and Intridea, a web application development company) to his name, Barg was elected as one of Washingtonian magazine’s Top 100 Tech Titans in the D.C.-metro area.

He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut, a MSEE in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Hartford. He is a 2008 alumni of the prestigious MindShare CEO Network, the leading entrepreneur network in the DC-metro area.

Ken Fang

President

Ken Fang is the President of Amenda Infotech, primarily overseeing the strategy and operations of the company. He works closely with clients to create mobile solutions to meet their strategic needs, and is adept at developing apps on all major mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, and mobile web. In addition to running Amenda Infotech, Ken is the founder and chairman of Altum, Inc., the market leader of enterprise grants management and performance management solutions for federal and philanthropic organizations. In 2009, the Washington Business Journal recognized Ken as one of the D.C.-metro area’s top minority business leaders; additionally, he has published a number of titles and articles in educational software and advanced computing technology. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a certificate in Bioinformatics from Stanford University.

Brian Lacey

CEO

Brian Lacey was named CEO of Amenda Infotech in April of 2015, since the company has grown around 50% in revenue and 50% in employee growth each year. Under his leadership he has led Amenda Infotech to being named to the Inc. 5000 fastest growing companies (2015,2016), Best Places to Work (2016), Webby Award (2016), Muse Creative Award(2016), DCA Live Media(2016), Top website and mobile developer by Clutch (2015, 2016).

Brian serves as a thought leader in the industry recently being named as an industry chair to Advanced Technology Academic Research Center.

He received a double B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Claremont McKenna College.

Wendy Kessell

Board Member

Wendy Fyock is Amenda Infotech’s Chief Financial Officer. She manages all financial and administrative aspects of Amenda Infotech and oversees its security matters. Wendy holds a BS in Accounting and Management from the University of Maryland University College, graduating in three and half years while working full time in the Accounting Department of a satellite manufacturing company. She passed the CPA exam at her first sitting in 1991 and became a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) in 2007. She also is a notary.

Wendy joined Amenda Infotech as a partner in 2011. She also is the CFO of Altum, Inc. (since 1999) and the CFO and Managing Partner of Dimora Enterprises (since 2014).

Prior to Altum and Amenda Infotech, she was the Controller (1992-1994) of Keystone Corporation, a telecommunications company. Keystone was purchased in 1995 by the owner of National Telecom, USA. Wendy was CFO of both companies from 1995 to 1998 when the telecom consortium relocated all operations to Florida. Wendy started her own public accounting firm in 1998 which she sold to Metro, Metro and Associates in 2008.

In 2015, Wendy was recognized with an Executive Management Award by Smart CEO Magazine. This is her third award by Smart CEO Magazine as in 2010, the publication chose Wendy for a Smart CFO Award and her fellow finalists selected her as THE Smart CFO. The Executive Management award celebrates C-Suite executives for their creative management, vision, leadership philosophy, innovative strategy and undeniable work ethic. In 2015, Wendy also was recognized by Who’s Who of Distinguished Alumni for ascending the summit of professional accomplishment and by The National Association of Professional Woman as VIP Woman of the Year Circle for 2015-2016 for excellence, leadership and commitment to her profession, while encouraging the achievement of Professional Women.

Shawn MacFarland

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Shawn MacFarland is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Amenda Infotech, bringing more than 20 years of software engineering experience designing and developing both federal and commercial enterprise solutions. Over his career he has developed shrink wrapped and mobile apps, lead teams and business units, linearized legacy costs and championed modern approaches, and most recently architected and directed the creation of an AWS dual Region FedRAMP compliant Content Management PAAS. He loves to solve complex technical problems and to oversee the implementation of solutions to those problems. Over the years he has worked with large projects based on COM/CORBA C++ Enterprise, JAVA EE, Ruby on Rails, Percussion, both Drupal and WordPress CMSes, and node.js. He is OS agnostic, loving Linux and Windows equally, so long as the master-images are CIS-Benchmark compliant and current with security patches. Rather than focusing on a specific language stack, he advocates polyglot solutions to leverage language strengths to the specific problems spaces in which they excel. Because he respects the difficulty of distributed computing problems he prefers cloud service solutions particularly AWS-based offerings, to the creation of custom coded solutions to handle enterprise infrastructure services. He is currently driving company wide technical vision and coordinating multi-discipline engineering teams to make this vision a reality. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Paula Cintioni

Director

Ms. Paula Cintioni is the lead interaction designer at Amenda Infotech. She has 9+ years of experience, including web/mobile interface, interaction, and usability design. Her job consists of directing the strategy and delivery schedule of all graphics deliverables. In addition, she’s the director of our team in Buenos Aires coordinating the whole offshore operation.

Gerardo Pinkus

Creative Director

Gerardo Pinkus has been passionately delivering exceptional graphic design for 8 years now. As Amenda Infotech’s Art Director, he’s the beacon that leads all the design efforts to bring every product delivered to its highest quality. Mr. Pinkus’ attention to detail and talent help him set the desired styles tailored to fulfill every client’s needs.
His first steps in the digital world began years ago designing websites for a variety of clients at design studios. Later on, he jumped on board into the mobile world to which he has devoted his career up to today.

William Haymes

Director

William is a Director with two decades of experience in IT. Working on whitehouse.gov with both the Clinton and Bush administrations, William started his professional life as a graphic designer and worked his way up to be the manager of Web Technologies and Application Support for the White House. Having additional experience with other Washington-based organizations, he’s well equipped to navigate the special challenges that beltway projects can contain. Known for a good sense of humor, William can make the most of any situation and works hard to make everyone’s experiences as stress-free as possible. When not building SharePoint lists or PowerPoint decks, William likes to play with his two dogs, two cats, and three guitars. (Not all at the same time, of course.)

Jason Schulte

VP of Engineering

Mr. Schulte is a Senior Software Engineer at Amenda Infotech. With more than 10 years of software engineering experience, he has exceptional proficiency in designing and developing enterprise applications. Prior to joining Amenda Infotech, Jason founded and ran his own company, Exceptual Technologies, which focused on providing infrastructure, hosting, and web development for businesses. Jason’s software expertise includes MySQL, JavaScript, JQuery, Xen, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and PHP, amongst many others. Additionally, he has deep expertise with content management systems, such as Drupal and WordPress. Besides coding, he enjoys coaching junior developers and providing top-tier support to end users and clients. Jason holds degrees in Computer Science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Missouri State University.

Karandeep Kang

Director of Sales

Karandeep Kang is a Director at Amenda Infotech, bringing extensive expertise in quality assurance, test management, test automation, requirements gathering, and development management. He received a B.S. in Neuroscience from the College of William & Mary.

Mary Matalas

Director

Mary Matalas has over 15 years of client-focused experience developing strategy and leading teams in delivering digital, social networking and cloud-based platform solutions with both public sector and commercial clients. Her strengths are in working collaboratively with clients to build long lasting, trust-based relationships and in building creative, motivated cross-functional teams that deliver high quality services and products.

Ryan McNey is a Director at Amenda Infotech. He brings 6+ years of IT experience supporting federal and commercial clients, with a specific focus on Systems Integration. Ryan is passionate about design, problem-solving, and collaboration. He received a B.S. in Business Management from West Virginia University

Austin White

Director

Austin White is a Director leading complex mobile, web and cloud infrastructure development for at NASA and the International Trade Administration within Amenda Infotech’s Federal Practice as well as a number of political organizations on the commercial side. Austin, a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM), also develops on the Microsoft Dynamics platform and the Atlasssian suite. Prior to joining Amenda Infotech, Austin served as a Senior Consultant for Blackstone Technology Group’s Digital Services practice, managing enterprise digital transformation efforts for top U.S. financial and energy firms. 

Peter Van

Director

Peter Van utilizes Agile and Scrum methodologies to help organizations improve their experiences through the medium of mobile and web. With over a decade of project management experience, he has worked with clients such as the United States Geological Survey (USGS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United Service Organizations (USO), and Gallup to solve operational and technical problems by implementing new applications and websites to provide a better mobile and web experiences for employees and users alike.

Clinton Herget

Director of Sales Engineering

Clinton Herget is a Software Engineer with over a decade of experience in architecting, building and supporting complex web and mobile applications in the public-sector and nonprofit spaces. At Amenda Infotech Clinton focuses on DevOps engineering and technical architecture, leading the team supporting USGS.gov and various other USGS applications. His skill-set includes Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Drupal, Amazon Web Services, Chef, Jenkins, Python, Ruby and numerous other languages and tools. Clinton is passionate about automation, scalability, continuous integration, and highly available infrastructure. He holds a B.A. in Government from the College of William & Mary and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Lucas Riutzel

Technical Director

Lucas Riutzel is a full-stack Software Engineer with 9 years experience in planning, developing, and implementing interactive websites. He enjoys building and managing linux based server infrastructure. Lucas is proficient in numerous programming languages and is an advocate on topics of privacy and security. He has spoken previously at Drupal Camp Chicago and is a co-founder of a local Drupal group.

Miles McLean

Director of Engineering Operations

Miles McLean is a Software Engineer bringing with him over ten years of IT management and systems engineering experience. Proficient in Microsoft and Linux enterprises, Miles specializes in custom DevOps work surrounding automation, scripting, and software deployment suites across multiple platforms. He is also experienced in hardware, both physical and virtual, as well as network infrastructure, storage, database, and resource utilization management. His free time is spent exploring rivers, forests, caves, and video games around his home in Nixa, Missouri.

Amanda Collodel

Deputy Director

Amanda Collodel is a Deputy Director at Amenda Infotech with over 16 years of information technology (IT) experience, including over 8 years of SharePoint administration. She has worked with federal and defense clients within the Department of Defense (DOD) Defense Security Services (DSS), the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Headquarters, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), building strong client and team relationships while implementing innovative solutions. Always eager to organize and simplify, Amanda enjoys weaving tangles of digital yarn into beautiful technological tapestries that serve a purpose and tell a story. Amanda holds a B.A. in Art and Visual Technology from George Mason University and is a Certified Scrum Master.

Alejandra Marquez

Alejandra has over 10 years of experience in Human Resources. She is highly experienced in developing HR policies and processes and her expertise is IT Talent Acquisition. She holds a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, a Master degree in Sociology and different postgraduates certificates. She worked for big companies such as Verizon and AT&T and for start-ups like Network Solutions and Crossover. Ale is our People Operations Manager. She loves technology and is a fan of music..

Javier Destefanis

Javier Destefanis is a Project Manager at Amenda Infotech with over 17+ years of IT and systems engineering experience. His professional career started in Teletech at the Global Development Center. He played as a technical team leader for Global IT projects across the world. He had the chance to work for the US Government for the Census 2010. Also he was honored as the Key Player of the company for his achievements as Project Manager. Also, he has been working for Fox Company going through the migration process of FOX+ channel and Foxplay products. He loves leading or being a key part of the design and management process for challenging products that require the latest technologies. His major expertise is in web and .net applications with a special focus on the database and middle-tier, as well as application’s architecture.

Ines taught Typography at the university for several years and still takes calligraphy classes on her free time.

Gabriel Napoli

Gabriel’s experience as a graphic designer for more than 6 years working on diverse media, such as print and animation, helps him bring that graphic knowledge to the digital realm. Chris has led efforts in creating the front-end for www.USA.gov, www.GobiernoUSA.gov, and new.export.gov. Jenny Cha

Jenny, a lover of all things UI and UX, is a front-end developer specializing in content management systems. She is passionate and enthusiastic about discovering solutions for the web and mobile with service design in mind and developing practical and cool websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. All this achieved in a day’s work with, of course, a help of her little friend, caffeine. During her free time, she likes to play with her pug named Glee and post pictures of her amateur cooking on Instagram.

Rachelle Pineda has over 3+ years of experience working in a IT environment providing process improvement and QA support testing web and mobile applications. Her responsibilities include functional, regression, and UI testing in addition to creating test reports. Rachelle also works with project managers to identify issues and defects and lead user acceptance testing. She enjoys hiking, food, and spending time her friends, family, and dog named Dex.

Leah Lloyd brings over 30 years of office experience with her, from local law office to international wall art supplier to New York City clothing production management. In her free time, she sews costumes, putters in the garden, and collects cats.

Carey Erickson

Project Manager

Carey Erickson is a content strategist managing the content migration side of the NOAA Fisheries project. She brings 16 years of experience in the public sector specializing in content strategy, content syndication, web content management, mobile strategy, social media marketing, and usability testing. With her public administration background, Carey always considers her ultimate client to be the public users of the products she develops.

Carey has proven skills in program management, event planning/training and developing products with minimal resources. She has a BA in Political Science from Colorado College, and an MA and MPA from the University of Kansas.

Lautaro Bertuzzi

Lautaro is a Software Engineer with more than six years of systems engineering experience and a MBA in progress. He has a lot of experience with a variety of back-end and front-end technologies and he is always learning new things. Lautaro is a specialist in Full-Stack development and loves the challenges. Outside of work, Lautaro enjoys doing crossfit and weightlifting, reading a lot about new technology trends and being a real nerd.

Anand Dwivedi brings 13 years of IT experience including consulting, customer account management, and recently technical product management. He enjoys building products customers love, while also driving sustainable business growth. Anand enjoys the learning and collaboration through all layers of the product life cycle. Jazmen’s client focused approach to project management comes from her experience in the government contracting, non-profit and real estate industries. When Jazmen is not working, she is traveling, volunteering or running around Alexandria, VA with her Jack Russell, Payton. Jazmen has a BA in Political Science and Economics from Hampton University and a MS in Project Management from Drexel University. She is PMP certified and holds membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Junior League of Northern Virginia.

While completing his masters, Mike developed a strong interest in all things UX. He has dabbled in freelance programming and UX research/design, and worked three years in operations in college athletics. He holds a B.A. in Professional Writing and Philosophy, and an M.S. in Information Technology. He hails from Pittsburgh, PA and enjoys cheering on any team from the City of Champions

Scot Self

Developer

Mr. Self is a Senior Development Engineer at Amenda Infotech. During his more than 10 years of development experience, he has worked almost exclusively with Drupal, especially in the front end space. Prior to joining Amenda Infotech, Scot was a part owner of Inner File Software, which focused on Drupal and FileMaker development, especially integrating the two. As a front-end developer and site-builder, Scot’s expertise includes theming (HTML, CSS, JS) and PHP. Besides coding, he enjoys playing bluegrass music, doing crossfit and spending time with his family (wife Daphne, daughter Juniper and son Tristan). Scot holds a B.A. in French from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) an M. A. in French language and civilization from NYU.

James Tawney

Developer

James Tawney is a System Administrator who supports international customers via installation, configuration and maintenance of systems hardware/software. With over 10 years of IT environment experience providing remote support to the applications utilized by the United States Department of Commerce (USDOC). He holds an A.A.S in Information Technology as well as MCITP and Network + certifications.

Michael Quicho

Senior Systems Engineer

Michael has been a Citrix Engineer and VMWare Engineer since 2005, working as a consultant for a variety of Govt. agencies throughout. At ITA he has included AWS experience into his repertoire, as well as increased his knowledge of Powershell and VB scripting.
On a sideline, Michael also likes to hang out with his wife, lift weights, go to the shooting range whenever he can, play guitar, give his five kids and two dogs a hard time, and work with Gideons International.

Natalie Robinson

Natalie is a Project Manager with Amenda Infotech having over 8 years experience working in federal government contracting. She enjoys fostering collaboration and is committed to client success. Natalie earned her B.S. in Marketing from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (Go Aggies!) and MBA from the University of Maryland University College. She is PMP certified and is a Certified Scrum Master. She’s an avid runner who enjoys traveling, attending live concerts, and spending time with family and friends.

Frederick Bigden

He has worked in project management for the last 10 years in a number roles and industries including financial sectors, educational institutions, to large digital media companies. Received his Bachelors in Business with a Minor in Computer Information Systems from Bridgewater College in the great state of Virginia. Innovation and the possibilities available brought him to Amenda Infotech, and he hopes to contribute those exact assets back to the company. From a more personal level, he played baseball for over 20 years, so it’s safe to say sports are a large part of his life both watching and playing. He enjoys creative aspects to life as well whether that be randomly picking up a pen to draw, or being out in his garage building something new on a whim.

Systems Engineer

Tony is a Systems Engineer who has provided a wide range of IT services on projects in the private sector as well as contractual work for the federal government and non-profit organizations. Tony’s primary background is Windows network configuration which has allowed for hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy. These skills are now being funneled into cloud development assignments for AWS and Azure. Tony enjoys exercising, spending time with family and friends, and reading (just don’t ask him the last time he picked up a book for leisure…embarrassing).

Keith Kelly

Lead Engineer

Keith serves as the Lead Engineer and Architect at Dept of Commerce, ITA. With over 20 years of experience in non-profit, private, and federal sectors, he is OS and platform agnostic. Solving complex problems using the best available tools and approach is what motivates him. Over his career, he has worked with large scale projects for the IRS, Bank of America, Washington Gas, Constellation Energy, and Syngenta as well as smaller, more complex projects that included travel to 14 other countries. As a previous VMWare and OpenStack platform architect, he recognized the benefits and value of cloud computing early on, and made the transition. While preferring AWS platform deployments over others, he is also experienced in Azure, VMWare, and OpenStack cloud offerings and their benefits. Certifications and training platforms include, AWS, Microsoft and Azure , ITIL, VMWare, OpenStack, Drupal, and CompTia. In his spare time, he enjoys music, cycling, golf, urban exploring, and as much volunteer work as time permits.

Prior to joining Amenda Infotech, Ken served as a Project Manager with a focus on mobile iOS and Android development, healthcare, data analytics, and E-commerce.
